SERP APIs: search-engine data and API alternatives

Compare SERP data providers for Google and other search engines. Inspect engine coverage, location controls, structured features and billing instead of substituting a general agent-search result.

This is a discovery list, not a claim that every engine and result feature is supported by each provider. Require a sample response for the exact engine, country and feature you need.

Compare minimum spend as well as request price

Serper advertises a $50 pack for 50,000 queries, with six-month credit validity. That is $1 per thousand if you use the whole pack, not a promise of a $1 checkout. SerpApi's Starter plan lists $25 per month for 1,000 searches; its free plan lists 250 searches monthly.

Those products may differ in engine coverage, result features, support and throughput. A lower price for one Google result surface is not automatically a substitute for an engine/API portfolio. Read the pricing guide for how to separate prepaid packs, recurring quotas and pay-per-use.

Google and Bing API alternatives: check availability

Microsoft retired the standalone Bing Search APIs on August 11, 2025. Its migration guidance points to Grounding with Bing Search in Azure AI Agents, which is a different model-integrated product contract. An old tutorial or a low keyword-difficulty estimate does not make the retired endpoint available to new customers.

Google's Custom Search JSON API is closed to new customers, with existing customers instructed to transition by January 1, 2027. Its old free-query allowance is not an available new-customer offer. If a tutorial requires a Programmable Search Engine ID, verify current eligibility before following its setup steps.

A third-party service offering Bing results is not Microsoft's retired official API. Likewise, a Google SERP collection service is not an official Google endorsement. Establish the source, supported output and permitted use instead of treating the engine name as the supplier identity.

A small acceptance test before switching providers

  1. Pick several real queries, including a local or structured result your product depends on.
  2. Fix location, language, device and page depth for every provider.
  3. Save raw response shape, extraction completeness and timestamps without credentials.
  4. Record cache policy, errors, queue delay and billed units.
  5. Compare the exact fields your product uses, not just HTTP success or a plausible first URL.

For broad source retrieval rather than SERP replication, return to the search API directory. It keeps agent search, search-and-extraction platforms and model-native tools in separate groups.
